Rani Dahra Waterfall

Editorial Note: One of Kabirdham district's most enchanting natural waterfalls, located roughly 30 km from Kawardha and 10 km from Bodla.

Tucked away within the forested foothills near Chhirpani and Bodla, Rani Dahra Waterfall is a pristine natural cascade beloved by local nature enthusiasts and hikers. Unlike commercialized tourist hubs, Rani Dahra preserves an untamed, quiet wilderness ambience.

Visiting the Falls

A paved road leads from Bodla through small tribal hamlets, followed by a scenic 300-meter nature walk through wooded groves to the base of the waterfall. During and immediately following the monsoon season (July to November), the falls swell into a thunderous roar, sending mist across the surrounding mossy boulders and forming a cool, emerald-tinted bathing pool.

Practical Travel Advice

• Footwear: Sturdy walking shoes are recommended due to damp, uneven river rocks.
• Timing: Best visited between 09:00 AM and 04:00 PM; carry your own water and light snacks, as commercial stalls are limited to the highway turnoff.
